The Beginning...

JobDirect, Inc., located in Stamford, CT, was founded by Rachel Bell and Sara Sutton in August of 1995. The concept for JobDirect evolved during the summer of 1995, when Rachel and Sara were contemplating what to do after college graduation and the stressful process of searching for jobs.

At the time, the Internet was becoming increasingly popular as a communications tool for students and business professionals alike. Rachel and Sara developed a concept through which qualified, entry-level job-seekers and prospective employees could exchange useful, dependable information in a timely and cost-effective manner. So they decided to "drop out" of school and to make their idea for JobDirect a reality.


Present and Future...

Since then, JobDirect has grown steadily and has reached its current position as the leading online database for employers to target, search, and find prospective job candidates from the college market. Throughout this growth, JobDirect’s innovative team has been led by Chairman/CEO, Kevin Gage, former President/COO, Rob Ford, and the rest of our executive management team.

JobDirect works with employers from many industries and geographic regions -- ranging from the Fortune 500 to fast-growing early stage companies. Unlike many job posting services, JobDirect enables employers to actually search for qualified candidates as well as to put up interactive postings. And JobDirect works with college and university students from more than 2000 campuses nationwide. Students can utilize JobDirect to easily create an online resume which will allow them to search for jobs or to be found by hiring employers.

From the vision of its two young founders, JobDirect has a unique and powerful understanding of its job-seeker audience, and this understanding has been directly integrated into the Company's marketing approaches. The JobDrive and Student Representative Program are examples of pioneering projects which are currently in action on campuses nationwide.
