Seems crazy to think of a time before Twitter, but my years in indie music coincided with the fall of flash and the rise of social & mobile media. I had my hand in everything from multimedia sites, promo campaigns, to more designs for Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, MySpace, and iTunes content than I can count.

Senior Interactive Designer
Sudler was an invaluable work experience, albeit a creatively stifling one thanks to the überconservative pharma clients. Working alongside IAs, copywriters, production artists, and other designers definitely proved why there's no substitute for division of labor.

Art Director
My brief fling working alongside Fox Newsies at the NYC headquarter of the Evil Empire... where I learned even having your own office doesn't compensate for the endless tedium of corporate middle management.

Senior Web Designer
I lived and breathed e-commerce and CMS and went table-less with W3C compliant CSS. While anyone can churn out eye candy by plowing pixels and Flash, it definitely takes something else to make page loads of forms and functional interface look pretty.

Senior Flash Designer
Recreate News. Remake History. It was all Kuma War, all the time, with this brief but enervating freelance stint. For a high end ad agency, the folks at RDA were surprisingly mellow. After wasting away in design purgatory for the previous two years, it was nice to be reminded of how a real company works.

Senior Designer
It's challenging working in a two person office where I'm essentially expected to do everything. In addition to creative direction, design, production, quality assessment, marketing, research, and print design, I also have to take on the occasional copywriting, photography, programming, and of course, placating high strung clients and the bossman.

In the midst of the brutal dot-com fallout, it occurred to me that working for a tech career agency might be a safe shelter, because, hey, people need to find new jobs... So I learned how to efficiently work around ASPs and produced over 200 branded career sites. Peachy, huh?

Sales Associate
Ah, the joys of retail! I applied for this job on a whim after the brutal closing of Blue. Before long, I was ringing returns and folding clothes like a maniac at the A|X SOHO flagship. The word "closing" still makes me cringe.

Design Associate
Banners, Flash, logos, site design, HTML, CSS, and the occasional copy - I did it all before the Canadians came and shut the firm down... a long and regrettable scandal...

Junior Art Director
I have to admit that even after this stint, I still can't fathom women's fascination with shoes, or handbags, or women in general.

Student Assistant
Tons of database work; but, the BAC curators were super cool and definitely knew how to throw lavish receptions. The airy and elegant space, designed by Louis Kahn, was in itself a bonus.

College Intern
I had a blast giving tours of the museum and people-watching while working at the front desk. I also researched for and gave my own talk on works by Vermeer and Rembrandt from the European paintings collection.

Arts and Crafts Counselor
Camp was cool, but after living with and taking care of 8 nine year olds for an entire summer, I'm not itching to go back anytime soon.

Archive Documentor
Transcribing these harrowing testimonies of Holocaust survivors was simultaneously depressing and enlightening; strangely enough, this part time job laid the foundation for my senior lit essay three years later.
